Wyeth Pharmaceuticals tries to STOP your access to Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapies (BHRT).
BHRT-A BATTLE FOR THE TRUTH
On October 16, 2005, Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, the maker of Premarin and Prempro, filed a "Citizens Complaint" with the Federal Drug Administration (FDA) requesting that compounding pharmacies be prohibited from providing bio-identical hormone therapies to their patients. As a practicing physician and trained pharmacist, I am deeply concerned that my patients' access to safe and efficacious bio-identical hormone replacement therapies (BHRT) could be at risk. Even more, I am horrified that Wyeth would so brazenly attempt to use its corporate wealth and power to twist the facts, manipulate the research and, ultimately, push their mercenary agenda through a federal governing body.

UPDATE
As of April 7, 2006, The FDA has received over 37,000 comments regarding the Wyeth complaint. At least 99.9% of the comments oppose Wyeth’s attempt to restrict women’s rights to choose bio-identical hormones. The FDA has rarely received a response of this magnitude and as a result, the comment period has been extended to May 4, 2006.
