At NHI, our favorite part of the job is the feedback we get from happy customers. Many of them say they want to spread the word that BHRT and hormone-healthy supplements work! Here are some stories that we have permission to share.
I took Prempro for 3 months, but I didn’t feel good on it. It only partially relieved my hot flashes and mentally I didn’t feel right. I had what could only be described as “foggy thinking.” After reading Dr. Randolph’s book “From Hormone Hell to Hormone Well,” I consulted a local physician specializing in natural hormone replacement. Prior to taking bioidentical hormones, I was experiencing hot flashes and night sweats, but otherwise I thought I felt great, at least compared to everyone I know. The benefits were quite unexpected! My hot flashes and night sweats were relieved, but also I noticed other benefits that I didn’t even imagine could be addressed.
- For the last 10 years or so I gained 5 lbs. every winter, which would take 3 months to lose. This is the first time I didn’t gain any weight over the winter months.
- My mood improved, I felt a lot happier and more carefree.
- I used to drink three cans of diet cola every day for the last 15 years. I no longer have any cravings for pop and now I rarely drink it.
- My total cholesterol decreased 20 points in 30 days without any changes to my diet and exercise programs.
- I used to feel tired and groggy in the afternoon. I’m now surprisingly alert.
- After the addition of DHEA to my hormone replacement regimen, my metabolism increased tremendously. Now I consume more calories, and I’m a few pounds lighter.
I am 52 years old. But I feel like I’m in my early 30’s and my metabolism feels even younger. I never thought that anything was wrong with me because everyone I know feels even worse. I have a daughter in her 30’s. I purchased Dr. Randolph’s Natural Balance Cream for my daughter’s PMS symptoms and pre-menstrual migraines. She has only been on it for about 30 days, but has noticed an improvement in mood and alertness.
Thanks so much Dr. Randolph! – Diana
I am 58-year-old woman who suffered from 20 to 30 hot flashes day and night for three years. I had no libido and my sleep patterns were non-existent as I had chronic insomnia. I sent away for a saliva test
and found that my progesterone levels were very low and my testosterone levels were even lower. I was estrogen dominant.
Almost one year ago I began taking Dr. Randolph's Natural Balance Cream topically 2 x a day and taking a testosterone troche sublingually 1 x a day. I can happily report that I no longer have hot flashes or night sweats, I sleep through the night almost all the time, and my libido levels have increased dramatically. When I went for my yearly pap smear, my gynecologist said that my vaginal area was that of a pre-menopausal woman, moist and pink, and healthy looking, instead of dried out.
I will stay on bioidentical hormones for the rest of my life and feel
very safe in their use. I recommend them to every woman that I know who is suffering from menopausal symptoms. If it had not been for Dr. Randolph and his book (which I also recommend to everyone), I would be another post-menopausal woman still suffering because I was told that there was nothing out there to help me.

I am 49 years old and have been suffering with symptoms of menopause since 1999. I am a post-graduate educated mother of two grown sons. I am also a former dance studio owner/instructor who was in top physical condition for many, many years before the onset of menopause. After menopause, I developed severe joint problems, severe irritability, gained over 75 pounds, had severe night sweats and hot flashes, insomnia, and short-term memory loss… just to name a few.
In Atlanta first, and continuing in Orlando FL in 2001, I read every book on the subject that I could get my hands on; starting first with Suzanne Somers’ book, The Sexy Years, then on to others by authors who were well respected doctors on the subject. I called dozens of doctors asking for help in natural ways to control these symptoms, including bioidentical hormones . Their reactions were all the same. Either they had no idea what I was talking about or they dismissed me as an ignorant person who did not understand my own body and what was normal health for me. I was told I should just accept their diagnosis. They knew best. “THEY WERE THE DOCTOR”
Then, while watching The Early Show on CBS one morning, I happened to catch an interview Rene Siler was having with a soft-spoken, warm, and quite funny doctor who had been mentored by Dr. John Lee, a greatly respected pioneer in the field of female hormones. I was glued to the TV. Rene, being a typical journalist (no disrespect)… was persistent, and slightly antagonistic with her questions. The doctor handled the interview brilliantly.
I went to the CBS website to find out where this doctor was located in the country. I was willing to fly anywhere to see him. You see, I had been trying, at this point, to find relief from someone who had his exact philosophy about women’s health. I was thrilled to find him. And come to find out, he was in Jacksonville Beach and I was in Orlando, 2½ hours away by car. YEAAA!
Before I found Dr. Randolph, I tried many other treatment methods during my search, such as combined continuous oral hormone therapy (capsules). I also tried over-the-counter remedies. Nothing helped…and it almost cost me my marriage and family.
It wasn’t until I was tested and treated by Dr Randolph that my symptoms began to disappear. Relief was not overnight, but it did happen. His philosophy and expertise was just what I had needed. Placebo effect…? Ask my husband. I don’t think so! These people don’t know what they are talking about.
Just recently, I was unable to get to my compounding pharmacist because of my work schedule. I ran out of my hormone creams that they make especially for me as prescribed by Dr Randolph. I was okay for about two or three days, and then the symptoms came back with a vengeance. They would wake me out of a sound sleep.
Within a day or so of starting back on my creams, the symptoms subsided. When I am on the hormone creams, I have no more hot flashes or night sweats. I have dropped two pant sizes. My joints are better, not perfect, but better. I have a sex life again. My husband is thrilled. I am no longer a forgetful, irritating *itch. My memory has been gradually getting better.
It is my experience that most doctors I have met who dismiss this treatment are highly undereducated in the area of women’s health and the body’s ability to heal itself. They dismiss the beneficial results the treatment brings, and refuse to encourage this safer course of action. I believe they follow the pack. The pack of pharmaceutical companies and doctors who are driven by Boards of Directors with their profits and losses and who fund medical learning institutions essentially limiting what new doctors learn about natural "unpatentable" treatments.
I believe I am a smart person who takes great pride in being an educated consumer and the owner of my own health and well-being. I believe in Dr Randolph and his philosophy. I will drive, fly, swim, hike, run, to him and his staff. I only hope he is mentoring other doctors, so all women can benefit by his knowledge and experience such blessed relief.
Thank you for your time. – Debra,
Orlando, FL
I cannot believe how good I feel today! Less than a year ago, my story was a sad one.
After suffering with a multitude of problems which included all over joint aches, numerous headaches, extreme fatigue, weight gain, and a return of hot flashes, I knew synthetic hormones were NOT working for me.
After reading Dr. Randolph’s book: Hormone Hell to Hormone Well, doing my saliva test and receiving some very revealing results, I made a decision that truly changed my life — I tried Dr. Randolph’s program. Within four (4) weeks my hot flashes were gone, as were my headaches. My joints no longer ached and my level of energy had improved appreciably. As each month passes, I find I continue to feel even better -- to say the least I am overjoyed and thrilled with my new feelings of good health.
One of my greatest wishes is that every woman entering these phases of their lives (PMS, pre-menopause, menopause, hysterectomy), would try this program. I truly believe it would change their lives too!

It is my first belief that I would not be addressing you now as a breast cancer survivor, had I had access to the information in the book What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Breast Cancer by Drs. John Lee and David Zava* many years ago.
After my mother died from a breast cancer recurrence, I volunteered to participate in the Breast Cancer Prevention Trial, a five-year double blind study to determine if Tamoxifen would prevent breast cancer in women at high risk. The results indicated that it was effective in preventing breast cancer in roughly half of the women. At the end of the five years, my file showed that I did indeed take Tamoxifen. I felt my fear of developing breast cancer could be put to rest.
Four years later, in 2001, a mammogram showed a small lump. Having had three breast biopsies previously, all of which were benign, and having also taken Tamoxifen, I was confident this lump would be benign as well. It was not. The Tamoxifen probably did stop the tumor from growing during the five years I was in the study, but began again after I was no longer on the drug. I received a lumpectomy, chemotherapy, radiation and Femara, an estrogen inhibitor, and prayed the cancer would not recur once my time on Femara ended.
God answers prayers in all manner of ways. During the time of my treatment, a few friends from my support group attended a lecture by Dr. Lee. They were so amazed by the information from him that they encouraged me to read his book. I too was astounded. I readily saw that my mother was a textbook case for estrogen dominance/progesterone deficiency and so am I, but to a lesser extent. I realized my cancer could have probably been prevented through natural hormone balance as could have my mother's. (She also took Premarin). The answer to my prayer was that I found Dr. Randolph right here in Jacksonville through Dr. Lee's mention of him in his book. I learned that Dr. Randolph has enjoyed success in helping breast cancer survivors prevent recurrences through the use of natural progesterone.
I used the saliva test to measure my hormones as recommended in the book. To my horror, I found that my "bad" estrogen level was still in the normal range for a postmenopausal woman even after nine months taking an estrogen inhibitor; my "good" estrogen was below normal and my progesterone level was below normal. (Other women in my support group who are using estrogen blockers and inhibitors have found this to be the case when their hormone levels were tested as well). To me, this is how a recurrence happens in women who have estrogen receptive breast cancer.
Since August 2002, I have been using natural progesterone cream. After about three months, my sleep patterns became normal and I rarely have to use a sleeping pill now even though I have been a night owl (a sign of progesterone deficiency I’ve learned) all of my life. In addition, I have been able to decrease the antidepressant (depression is another symptom of progesterone deficiency) to half dosage. My breasts are soft and devoid of any lumps or bumps (excess estrogen promotes fibrocystic breasts). My voluptuous teenage granddaughter who is obviously oozing estrogen out of every pore always suffered from terrible menstrual cramps. She now uses natural progesterone and her monthly cramps are minimal. Women in my support group suffering from hot flashes have enjoyed relief using natural progesterone.
Educating women about the use of natural progesterone to prevent breast cancer and recurrences is now my mission. I strongly urge all women to read Dr. Lee's books not only for your own health, but also for that of the women you love. I truly believe that breast cancer is largely preventable through natural hormone balance. Dr. Lee has been trying to warn women and the medical community about the dangers of synthetic hormone replacement therapy for years. Of course, this past year he was vindicated by the results of the Women's Health Initiative. While attending a seminar featuring Dr. Zava, I learned that the doctors he monitors who use natural progesterone do not see breast cancer in their practices. Dr. Lee, Dr. Zava and Dr. Randolph are courageous doctors who are on the cutting edge - we in Jacksonville are very fortunate to have Dr. Randolph here in our midst. Dr. Randolph has written a book on natural hormone balance, which is also very helpful and informative.

My wife and I have been nurses for over thirty-five years, and our understanding of a woman’s hormones was better than average, but Dr. Randolph's and Genie's books cleared up what we were a little vague about. It all made sense from a medical standpoint. It was concise, to the point, and easy even for a layperson to understand. A very positive change in my wife's and my life. These books are invaluable and factual. I can only say Thank You to Dr. Randolph and Genie James. — Jim
