Breast Health

Breast cancer is the most frequently diagnosed cancer in women. Breast cancer is also hormone dependent. Estrogen increases proliferation of breast cells, and when uncontrolled, the cell proliferation results in cancer. Very simply, continuous exposure to high levels of unopposed estrogens will most definitely increase a woman's risk of getting breast cancer. The body has "too much estrogen" anytime the body's production of estrogen is not in equilibrium with its production of progesterone.

In contrast, progesterone functions within the body to inhibit cell proliferation. Studies in such highly respected clinical journals as The Journal of the American Medical Association, Cancer Research, Lancet , and The New England Journal of Medicine have all validated the anti-carcinogenic properties of progesterone. Today the statistic is that one out of every eight women in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer. Early detection of breast cancer is very important but prevention is a much more critical opportunity. The scientific study I would most like conducted is one that would show a reduction in the incidence of breast cancer because every woman in the United States had begun to augment her body's production of progesterone as soon as her hormone levels began to shift.
